Guided tours are an essential part of engaging visitors with works of art. At the Weatherspoon Art Museum, these opportunities are made possible through the volunteer efforts of our docents. As teachers, writers, artists, and adult learners, docents help to realize the mission of the Weatherspoon by making the art of our time accessible and meaningful to our visitors.Training for new docents is one-year and requires a subsequent commitment to participate in continuing education docent classes while providing tours on a regular basis. Training begins in September. For more information on applying to the docent program or other volunteer opportunities, please click here fill out our contact form. (user name and password required) |
