Artist Talk: Rackstraw Downes photo

Well regarded as a contemporary exterior and interior land- and urbanscape painter, Rackstraw Downes has long divided his time between New York and Texas in order to capture, through direct observation, a unique sense of realism and abstraction.

Rackstraw will speak about his work on the occasion of his first major survey exhibition of his paintings, Rackstraw Downes: Onsite Paintings, 1972-2008 on view May 28-August 21, 2011.
