Workshop: Print, Copy, Collaborate, Part 1 photo

The Weatherspoon and Elsewhere join together to offer two workshops (April 26 + May 5) that explore the techniques, practices and possibilities of paper arts including zines. The workshops are suitable for teachers, community educators, and those interested in collaborative art making. Registration is required and space is limited.

Workshop 1 • Thursday, April 26 @ 5-8pm • Weatherspoon Art Museum

Explore the world of artist Trenton Doyle Hancock and the integration of image and text as we develop a collaborative zine and experiment with several processes for playfully addressing the autobiographical image. We will also discuss ways to enhance your students' language skills through collaborative and independent story-telling projects. Each participant will create an autobiographical page that will become a part of a group zine. Please bring a small photo of yourself that evokes a personal story. Register for this workshop by contacting Terri Dowell-Dennis, t_dowell@uncg.edu, or register for both workshops by contacting Chris Kennedy, education@elsewhereelsewhere.org. Location for Workshop 1: Weatherspoon Art Museum

Fee: Workshop 1: $5 WAM members; $7 nonmembers • Register for Workshop 1 + 2 for $8 and earn .6 CEUs

Workshop 2 • Saturday, May 5 @ 2-5pm • Elsewhere
