Falk Visiting Scholar in Art History

Yesomi Umolu (Nigeria/UK) has published widely on and curated exhibitions of contemporary art, with particular foci on African and African Diasporic art and global contemporary art and spatial practices. She is curator at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Art and a humanities lecturer at the University of Chicago. Umolu received an MA with honors in Architectural Design from the University of Edinburgh and an MA with Distinction in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art, London. She is a 2016 recipient of an Andy Warhol Foundation Curatorial Fellowship and is the 2018 UNCG Falk Visiting Scholar in Art History. She presents her public lecture in concert with the Baggage Claims exhibition.
