The artists in this graduating class use a variety of media and focus on an array of issues. Katie Claiborne’s energetic brush strokes and atypical colors work together to exude a sense of an inner life in her subjects. Their unselfconscious gazes reveal a hidden world that a staged pose could never offer. Fellow painter Kelly Queener’s colorful large-and small-scale paintings allude to a new spatial perception of our surroundings in our era of high technology. Jeff Bell dissects and assembles the components of found objects to create his inventive sculptures.

Peter Goff's unlikely medium is the trash he collects on walks along his neighborhood streets. Acting as a kind of archeologist of the present, Goff transforms our forgotten debris into strange artifacts that make for surprisingly elegant sculptures. Garima Saxena investigates the potential for connections to be made across cultural divides, employing performance, sculpture, text and image to focus on the tribulations of translation and interpretation.
